Fine Silver Textured Flower Necklace

I really love flowers. It has to be obvious by now.

This piece was made as a sample for my Diploma in Silver jewelry and it's now in search of its forever home.

Hand made with fine silver clay. When the hand carved clay piece is torch fired the clay binder burns away leaving only the fine silver behind. It's a pretty amazing process, and even better, fine silver doesn't tarnish anywhere near as fast as sterling as it has barely any copper in it.

The stone in the middle is a peridot coloured cubic zirconia and was torch fired in place with the metal clay. Cubic Zirconia is one of the few stones that can take the heat of firing. I love CZs for their toughness and their affordable glittery goodness.

All the little details of the flower have been carefully hand carved into this unique one of a kind piece.
